Quality renovation on time and within budget in pandemic times

After researching 20+ renovation firms, and meeting with 8 shortlisted firms, we chose to engage Stylemyspace for our renovation, based on the very professional first meeting with ID Addison. His use of a standardized questionnaire that reflected solid project management experience was a great start for us! Our day jobs involve extensive project management with very little time to spare, so we were really seeking an ID that could bring those skills to our home renovation, and we found that in Addison. Some highlights:

– Regular, clear communications on progress, including updates on commencement and completion of key phases.

– Timely reminders for upcoming ‘action items’ e.g. choosing tiles, wardrobe dimensions, paint colours, appliance ordering.

– Gentle nudges to re-consider with useful alternative suggestions when we proposed something that wouldn’t work or fit with the theme.

– Implemented our specific not-so-standard design ideas

– Rapid responses to our (many) questions throughout the process

– Overall, delivered a quality renovation on time and on budget – pretty fantastic given this was done within the constraints of the pandemic and associated restrictions.

– What worked well for us: Given our limited time, we decided to not sweat the small stuff and asked for Addison’s recommendations on vendors, e.g. lighting, blinds/curtains, bathroom fixtures, based on the trusted relationship he had established with us from the start. We still had to clearly decide on styles and models, but we’ve been very happy with all his recommendations in terms of the individual supplier’s service, quality and workmanship, well appreciated!
